Nutrition education is a combination of training, experience, and the application of sound nutrition principles. At Heartland, we complement these practices with a few "extras" to add balance and variety. When you enroll with Heartland, you can look forward to receiving the following items.

The Cooking for Kids cookbook offers a collection of favorite recipes from Heartland providers. These recipes are nutritious, practical, and provider-tested.

Our "Book in a Bag" features a nutrition-related children's book and corresponding nutrition activities for kids. A different book is chosen each year allowing providers to add to their library.

Children love to color. And we love to teach good nutrition. These activity sheets combine these "affections" to help children learn about the importance of good nutrition habits.

As a Heartland provider you will enjoy your own subscription of Heartland Horizons, free of charge. This monthly newsletter features fun and nutritious recipes, child care hints, program updates, children's activity ideas and more!
